As you said, this is a configuration for development. And I am mainly an integrations developer. In my company we have other people with devops profile who take care of these issues.

But I can tell you that for production you might need more than just a Dockerfile and it's better to use Kubernetes, for example. And mount certain volumes for specific configurations and especially for carbonapps.
